The College of the Environment Executive Committee provides a forum for information sharing, consultation and discussion of academic, administrative, and research policies and issues.

The Executive Committee is made up of the directors and chairs of each major department of the College along with the senior leadership of the Dean’s office. Major departments include degree-granting units as well as independent research and outreach units as determined by the Dean.

The Executive Committee provides the Dean strategic advice on matters including:

  • Maintaining excellence, vitality, and innovation in research, teaching, and engagement while managing financial realities for the College and its constituent units;
  • Ensuring that the College is forward looking, taking full advantage of emerging opportunities within and among the disciplines and fields represented in the College as they map onto larger national and international trends; and
  • Furthering strategies to encourage and stimulate a culture of intra-college engagement and collaboration while working to ensure the College is a key contributor to the UW’s mission and goals
