Lisa is the inaugural Dean of the UW College of the Environment and Mary Laird Wood Professor at the University of Washington. As a scholar, she pioneered the use of tree-ring data to understand long-term trends in climate. Lisa is always looking for better ways to bring the tremendous scientific capacity of the College to bear on critical environmental issues. Lisa loves to travel to remote destinations, especially with her adventurous teenage daughter.

Andrea provides executive support to Dean Lisa J. Graumlich. She is the central resource for information pertaining to the dean’s priorities and strategic initiatives, manages her calendar, and analyzes and prepares materials for committees, programs and projects. Andrea is also the staff lead for internal and external committees chaired by the dean. Outside of work she enjoys knitting, reading and exploring the globe one country at the time.
Administration
Stephanie is responsible for the administration and internal business operations of the College and serves as the chief of staff to the Dean. Primary areas of responsibility include operations strategies and policies, research administration, government relations, health and safety, infrastructure and facilities (including field stations and research vessels), IT, business analysis tool development, and public record requests.

Jessica provides executive and administrative support to the Associate Dean for Administration and Associate Dean for Research. She also provides research administration support to these two Deans, supports the College’s health and safety efforts, and assists with special events. Jessica enjoys traveling to new places, playing with her Labradoodle and Husky, and going on foodie adventures.

Wendy works with the director of Finance and Administration and administrator on college commitments and analysis of budgets for the dean’s office. She is responsible for monthly financial reports and trend analysis. Wendy oversees payroll and leave management and attends to a variety of other fiscal duties. Outside of work, Wendy volunteers by providing administrative support for Snohomish County Search and Rescue.

Caroline is responsible for the daily fiscal administration of dean’s office budgets and general office operations. Caroline works closely with the director of finance and units’ administrators to ensure the strategic and successful management of College and dean’s office fiscal resources. Outside of work, Caroline enjoys movies, traveling and spending quality time with her family.

Kiki provides support and guidance to the College's units in regards to policy, HR practices, recruitment, promotion and tenure processes and approval, classification and other HR projects. She likes to spend time, travel and continuously experience new things together with her son and husband.

Michael leads the College’s Information and Technology team and is also the Director of Computing for the School of Aquatic & Fishery Sciences. He started his technology career more than 30 years ago as an undergraduate and has worked in various information technology positions throughout the UW, including the School of Business, UWIT, Radiology, and Aquatic & Fishery Sciences. When he is not working, he loves to fish, be outdoors, and spend time with his wife and three children.
Megan manages both academic and staff HR across the College. She provides advice and guidance on compensation, recruitment and hiring, classification, promotions and tenure, performance management, layoffs/dismissals, leaves, and merit, and is involved in many special projects and initiatives for the College that involve HR. She stays busy with her kids, drinks vast amounts of coffee and enjoys the antics of her dog, Roscoe.

Julia is responsible for academic policy, supporting and facilitating unit-based and interdisciplinary academic programming and expanding experiential learning opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students throughout the College.

Michelle directs the Academic Affairs student services team and coordinates recruitment, retention and advising efforts of the student services staff across the College. She is the point person for academic policies and manages the College Curriculum Committee and the review process for new courses and academic programs. She also manages career services initiatives, including the Career Opportunities page and the Environmental Career Fair.

Joe provides academic advising and program coordination for multiple interdisciplinary undergraduate programs in the College. This includes advising for minors in marine biology and quantitative science, and promoting undergraduate course and student research opportunities at Friday Harbor Labs. Joe also supports data analysis related to undergraduate student recruitment and retention, and statistics of course offering and evaluation.

As the pre-major academic adviser for the College, Barbara helps prospective and current undergraduates who are exploring environmental majors find the best fit. She serves as the College's liaison to central campus student services units including Admissions, First Year Programs, Minority Affairs and Diversity, Undergraduate Academic Advising and the Career Center. She enjoys kayaking on the Salish Sea, snooping around beaches during low tide and relaxing on her deck with her husband.

Anthony works on recruitment, retention and professional development programming for graduate students and postdoctoral fellows at the College. He manages prospective graduate student events and graduate student orientation and coordinates the Graduate Recruitment, Retention and Diversity group and the Scholarship Committee. He is also the point person for the Meet, Greet, Teach event series. Anthony is a historian and baseball writer, homebrewer and advocate for diversity in STEM fields.
Advancement
Melinda leads the college’s advancement team to engage alumni, build individual and corporate partnerships and to further philanthropic investments in the college. Passionate about diversity and inclusion, her initial work in higher education was in engineering education research to increase retention of underrepresented students. Prior to her career in higher education, she provided research and development support to the U.S.D.A. Forest Service Fire and Aviation program.

Erin is a central resource for information pertaining to advancement’s priorities and strategic initiatives and manages special projects. She also supports the Associate Dean for Advancement and the Corporate and Foundation Relations team. Outside of work, you can find her kayaking, climbing, volunteering, or whipping something up in the kitchen.

Danna comes to UW from the Seattle Aquarium, where she served as Corporate Relations Officer building out a robust corporate relations program. She holds a master’s degree in conservation biology from the University of Queensland and a bachelor’s in marine biology from UCSC. In her role at UW, Danna is responsible for working with academic leaders, volunteers and others to develop and implement strategies for corporate and foundation support that align with departmental and College priorities.
Rachel is based on San Juan Island and works closely with Friday Harbor Labs' Advancement board. She also coordinates annual Friday Harbor Labs donor events. Rachel dabbles in artistic ventures, but mostly enjoys going to art museums, concerts and dance performances.

James is passionate about building and sustaining relationships with individuals to raise private support for the College of the Environment. In his role, he serves as the advancement liaison to the School of Oceanography, Department of Atmospheric Sciences and Program on the Environment. As a Husky alumnus himself, James has worked at UW Bothell Advancement since 2015 and joined the College of the Environment in autumn 2019. When he’s not working, he can be found cooking, reading or traveling.

Liz develops comprehensive strategies to raise corporate and foundation gifts and private grants in support of departmental and College-wide priorities. She is the point person for corporate and foundation engagement and outreach. Outside of work, she enjoys playing her trombone and spending time with family and friends.

Zanne's work focuses on donor acknowledgments, recognition and accountability, compliance and fiduciary responsibility, impact reporting, and engagement and loyalty. When not at work, you can find her singing with the Seattle Symphony Chorale at Beneroya Hall.

Dave leads the College of the Environment’s individual giving team and raises private funding to support faculty, students and programs. Dave has been at the UW since 2005. He previously led the College of Engineering’s corporate and foundation relations team and the Advancement team in the Office of Minority Affairs & Diversity where he led the Intellectual House campaign. Dave is an enrolled member of the Cowlitz Indian Tribe.

Kathleen connects internal and external stakeholders with EarthLab, one of the College's newest initiatives, to build stronger relationships between UW Environment and the community. She oversees support from individuals and private foundations making transformative gifts that impact EarthLab’s focus areas of ocean health, climate resilience, natural hazards and healthy ecosystems. Outside of work, you can find her exploring local hiking trails or experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen.

Andrew serves as the College’s Advancement liaison for the School of Aquatic and Fishery Sciences and the School of Marine and Environmental Affairs. Prior to the College of the Environment, Andrew worked in fundraising and audience development roles at KUOW Public Radio, ACT Theatre and Seattle Repertory Theatre. Outside of work, he enjoys running, playing tennis and spending time in the San Juan Islands.

Kearstin assists advancement staff to process gifts, steward donors, pull reports and manage the office. She has a fond relationship with the College of the Environment, as an alum of the School of Environmental and Forest Sciences herself. When she isn’t helping fundraisers get out the door, she can be found camping all throughout the mountains or playing rugby at Magnuson park.
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
Terryl collaborates with College of the Environment stakeholders to envision diversity, equity and inclusion efforts across the College. He works to accomplish these goals through empowering the College's diversity champions, his commitment to environmental justice and focusing on efforts that will make the biggest impact. Terryl attended film school at Syracuse University and looks forward to creating UW Environment-related digital stories.

Molly leads the College's Marketing and Communications team. She is the point person for the College's brand and marketing strategy and is a resource for units and groups that are looking to better tell their stories to key audiences. Outside of work, Molly can be found in a kayak in whitewater, on the ice at Granite Curling Club, and at meetings of the board of directors for the Hearing, Speech and Deaf Center.

Joy writes, plans and promotes editorial content for the College website, social media and Headlines newsletter. She’s also a resource for content proofing and editing for print and online materials to be consistent with College and greater University brand guidelines. She provides support for unit Marketo email newsletter planning and distribution. Joy is on a never-ending quest to find the best coffee in Seattle.

Drew builds and supports the College’s website along with the 20+ other sites within the College’s web framework. Drew is the point person for technical support with Trumba event calendars, Marketo emails and WordPress training. He enjoys the whizzing of bike spokes, a fully trimmed sail and exploring the man-made and natural splendor of the Pacific Northwest.

Joe leads digital communications and content strategy for the College and manages projects for the 20+ sites in the College unit website framework and email communications program. He also writes stories and social media, and works with units across UW Environment to engage online audiences and promote the work of students and faculty.

John oversees the science communication program at the College, where he helps scientists become powerful spokespeople for their work beyond the walls of academia. He also assists various groups within the College communicate about who they are, whether through marketing or storytelling channels. When not in the office, he is out exploring shorelines and mountains on foot or building something in his basement workshop.

Zoe designs digital and print media for the College’s websites and marketing communications. In her spare time, Zoe sculpts flowers, fruits, vegetables, and other flora out of paper and hangs out with her awesome dog.

Bruce supports faculty, graduate students and postdocs at the College in all spheres related to research. He coordinates and tracks research activities within the College, seeks out opportunities for new interdisciplinary research and promotes the College's research portfolio within UW, as well as at the state and federal levels.
