The School of Environmental and Forest Sciences’ Jorge Tomasevic recently received a 2016 UW Award of Excellence for his achievements in teaching, mentoring, public service, and staff support.

Tomasevic is a wildlife scientist who’s at the University of Washington on a Fulbright-Conicyt scholarship from Chile. He works on the ecology and conservation of forest birds, and is especially interested in improving the conservation status of forest birds like the Chilean Woodstar and Masafuera.

Tomasevic and other award recipients from across the University of Washington will be honored at 3:30 p.m. on June 9 at a ceremony in Meany Hall for the campus and general public.
