The University of Washington’s annual Husky Giving Day will be held on April 7, 2022. Husky Giving Day is a 24-hour period during which alumni and friends come together to support the people, programs, projects and causes they care about most at the University of Washington. Our greatest strength is our community. We hope to inspire UW alumni and friends around the world to participate in celebrating the power of philanthropy at the UW.

EarthLab launches first-ever Innovation Grants

EarthLab at the University of Washington envisions a world where nature and people thrive. To that end, EarthLab has launched an Innovation Grants program to provide funding for projects that are risky, new ideas with a high potential for impact and the ability to motivate change. Through this program, EarthLab hopes to increase capacity across the UW for innovations in the application of transdisciplinary scholarship, deepen engagement with diverse community partners (e.g.,

Philanthropy: Making a Difference

Undergraduate Students

During the 2015 fiscal year, which closed June 30, the College of the Environment was the fortunate beneficiary of a record number and amount of gifts and private grants—$13.8M from 3,030 distinct donors, including alumni, friends, corporations, foundations, and other organizations! We are grateful for every donor who supported the College and its many academic units and programs in the past fiscal year.

Philanthropy: Making a Difference

June is an exciting month for students (graduation, summer) and faculty (fieldwork) at the College of the Environment. We anticipate another strong year in private support, thanks to an ever-increasing number of gifts and private grants. We can’t overstate how important this private support is in helping the College achieve its educational, research, and public engagement goals. Donor support has allowed us to expand our course and major/minor offerings, recruit (and retain) key faculty, provide scholarships, develop cross-disciplinary programs, and provide seed funding to tackle the environmental issues we face today.
