The cold weather this week will delay the blooming of cherry trees in the UW Quad this year, according to Sara Shores, University of Washington campus arborist. The scorpion was found in the Santa Catalina Mountains near Tucson and is named after the University of Washington post-doctoral scholar Robert Bryson, who spotted the arachnid in the mountains and sent the samples to be identified. Read more about this new discovery in USA Today.
