In October 2024, a cohort of over 20 staff, faculty and students funded by the College of the Environment will attend the 2024 National Diversity in STEM (NDiSTEM) Conference hosted by Society for the Advancement of Chicanos and Native Americans in Science (SACNAS). Check out members of the 2024 NDiSTEM College of the Environment cohort below. Additionally, the College’s Office for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion is supporting the College of the Environment booth, hosting the NSF-funded 2024 SACNAS-based Geo-Futures Mentoring Program, and, in collaboration with colleagues from AGU, NCAR/UCAR, NOAA and USGS, helping facilitate two research sessions. These include “Engaging the Diverse Talents and Perspectives of Hispanic and Tribal Communities in Advancing 21st Century Climate Science” and “Voyage to Environmental Justice Symposium: Latino and Native American Voices Driving Climate Science Through STEM and Community Engagement.”
