Pacific herring are culturally and commercially important. To understand more about them at the organism and population scales, we need access to their genome. Scientists in the School of Aquatic and Fishery Sciences published a paper in PLoS ONE this week that describes their work to provide genomic resources to further research on the Pacific Herring. Authors include Steven Roberts, Lorenz Hauser, Lisa W. Seeb and James E. Seeb. Read the article here.
