Baptiste Journaux is a planetary scientist whose research interests include the exploration of the solar system through space missions and the study of deep planetary interiors, notably of extraterrestrial oceans within water rich planetary bodies in our solar system and beyond. His research use a combination of experimental mineral physics techniques (diamond anvil cells, laser spectroscopy) and geophysical and thermodynamic models to reproduce the conditions of deep extraterrestrial environments to understand their potential for habitability and their future detection with space probes and telescopes.
