Welcome to all of the high school seniors who were recently offered admission to UW for the class of 2022! Congratulations on a huge accomplishment and on the start of a new, exciting chapter in your academic career. If you are interested in natural environments, living creatures big and small, and solutions-focused conversations about the future of our planet, the College of the Environment might be the perfect place for you. But don’t take our word for it, come see for yourself!

The College of the Environment offers a variety of ways for you to connect with us and experience our programs before making a decision on May 1. We also have scholarships available for incoming freshmen- see below for details.

Admitted Student Previews

The Office of Admissions offers Admitted Student Preview Days (ASPs) during the months of March and April. These one-day events for newly admitted Huskies and their families are perfect for students who seek an authentic taste of the Husky Experience before making a decision by May 1. The College of the Environment will be hosting an Academic Session from 2-3pm on each ASP day (with the exception of April 21 which is for the College of Engineering only).

Space in ASPs is limited and admissions will send invites to register for these events via email.  Admitted students and their families are invited to attend College of the Environment sessions regardless of whether or not you participate in the campus-wide Admitted Student Preview Days.

These College of the Environment information sessions will include a student panel and provide an excellent opportunity to learn more about the majors and minors within the College of the Environment, meet current students, and chat with academic advisers. Cookies and lemonade will be served. Please join us!

  • Tuesday, March 20, 2-3pm in the HUB room 337
  • Thursday, March 29, 2-3pm in the HUB room 214
  • Saturday, April 7, 2-3pm in Alder Hall room 103
  • Monday, April 23, 2-3pm in the HUB room 214

Shadow a UW Environment Husky

Want to experience the College of the Environment firsthand? Admitted students are invited to sign-up to shadow a UW Environment Undergraduate Student Ambassador for a half-day. A limited number of shadowing experiences are available in 3-hour blocks M-F, between 8 AM-6 PM, March 26 through April 27. If you are interested in this opportunity, please send an email to envamb@uw.edu with the following information:

Subject line: Shadow a UW Environment Husky Request

Body: Your name, hometown, dates/times that you are available (M-F, 8 AM-6 PM, March 26 through April 27), anything that you would like your student ambassador to know about you (please include any academic interests, accessibility requirements, etc.).

Please allow up to 2 business days for an update on the status of your request.
