Sally Jewell is back at home in the Pacific Northwest after serving as the Secretary of the Interior under President Obama. The University of Washington alum will sit down with Ashley Ahearn, host of KUOW’s terrestrial podcast, on August 30.

The two will talk about Jewell’s time in the Obama Administration, which included the fight at Standing Rock over American Indian rights and the Bundy Occupation of the Malheur Wildlife Refuge. She’ll give her take on the big questions facing federal agencies under the current administration, and she’ll tell where she’ll devote her time and energy in the years to come.

Each ticket to the terrestrial in conversation with Sally Jewell event will include a KUOW Public Radio Nerd glass and a pint of beer from Fremont Brewing. Doors to the event open at 6 p.m. at the Mountaineers Program Center in Seattle, and the program begins at 7 p.m. This event is open to all age groups. For attendees who aren’t 21 or who don’t wish to drink, enter “UNDER21” to see the no-pint glass option when purchasing tickets.

This event is produced in partnership with KUOWThe Mountaineers and UW College of the Environment.
