Friday, April 10: Information Session and Lab Tour

  • 1:00 pm: Get a feel for the University’s South Campus, where many of the College’s programs are located, during this optional 30-minute walking tour.
  • 1:30 pm: Learn all about studying marine sciences at the College of the Environment at this information session focusing on Marine Biology, Aquatic and Fishery Sciences, and Oceanography.
  • 2:30 pm: Join us for a lab tour to see how the College’s undergrads engage with cutting edge research from day one! Choose between a tour of the UW Fish Collection or the Seaglider and Argo Float Fabrication Lab.

Environmental Studies

Thursday, April 16: Nosh on Nature Husky Real Food Challenge

  • 11:30 am-1:00 pm: Join Environmental Studies for an installment of their quarterly speaker series and meet a group of students who are passionate about impacting the University of Washington’s food system. The Husky Real Food Challenge aims to shift 25 percent of UW’s dining budget to real food, food that is ecologically sound, fair, local, community-based, and humane, by 2020. Real food samples will be provided and while you nosh, learn more about this awesome student organization that was successful in getting funds from the Campus Sustainability Fund to work on a topic they care about.
