Seattle MESA provides enrichment opportunities and high quality resources that inspire students underrepresented in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) fields, to pursue education and careers in math, engineering and science.  The College of the Environment and Seattle MESA are offering a tutor training and certification for UW graduate and undergraduate students to work with Seattle middle and high school students from underrepresented groups in math and science.

We are looking for engaging and motivated graduate and undergraduate students who want to make a difference to underrepresented youth in Seattle.  Starting in spring 2014, you can train to become a Seattle MESA math and science tutor for local middle and high school students.  MESA tutors must attend a MESA STEM Tutor Training Basic Skills workshop (1 credit spring 2014 or fall 2014), enroll in our 2 credit fall, weekly seminar and commit to working 2-3 hours per week in the next fall in Seattle Public Schools.  Please email TutorSeattleMESA@gmail.com for more details.
