Ecological approach may revive logging – Albany Democrat-Herald

On a forested area some eight miles west of Monroe in Benton County, at the site of a proposed Bureau of Land Management timber sale, the professors — Norm Johnson of Oregon State University and Jerry Franklin of SEFS — are trying to show how their approach might help ease the gridlock that has paralyzed our federal forests for decades.
