Using Wi-Fi at the UW

UW-IT offers two Wi-Fi services for UW students, faculty, and staff accessible by logging in with a valid UW NetID and password.

  • “eduroam” is a WPA2 Enterprise encrypted Wi-Fi service preferred and recommended for UW students, faculty and staff due to the added security of encrypted data and transmission.
  • “University of Washington” is a general-purpose un-encrypted Wi-Fi network. This network should be used for devices and applications not supported on the “eduroam” service.

Click the button below for instructions on connecting to either service which is located at the bottom of the page.
