A Health & Safety Governance Task Force, charged by Provost Baldasty, is seeking input from UW students and employees on how the UW is doing with respect to keeping faculty, staff, students, patients, and visitors in our research labs, classrooms, residence halls, offices, hospitals, and clinics safe and healthy. They are also interested in health and safety issues related to university activities in the field and at sea.

The following areas are included in their mandate:

  • environmental safety (labs, shops, chemicals, biological agents, radiation, industrial tools);
  • emergency planning and management;
  • harassment and violence – response and prevention;
  • mental health and wellness;
  • physical health and wellness; and
  • disability accommodation and accessibility.

All members of the College of the Environment community are encouraged to provide feedback to this committee. If interested, please do one of the following by August 10, 2016.

  1. Complete the Catalyst survey set up by the Task Force; or
  2. Email your feedback to Joel Tobin
