Roger Marchand

Research Professor

Roger Marchand’s research focuses on cloud microphysics and improving the representation of clouds and microphysical processes in climate and cloud resolving models.  This includes developing remote sensing techniques to determine cloud properties from satellites, airborne, and ground-based instruments (especially radar), as well as applying remote sensing, in situ data, and instrument simulators in model evaluation.  He is a frequent participant in field experiments, most recently in several Southern Ocean campaigns (SOCRATES, MICRE and MARCUS).  Dr. Marchand is a member of the NASA CloudSat and MISR instrument teams.
