Loveday Conquest

Professor Emeritus

Ecological data, to put it mildly, can get messy, and Loveday Conquest has devoted her career to cleaning it up. As a statistician, she specializes in figuring out new and better ways both to design experiments and analyze data, all as part of a larger effort to address problems in environmental monitoring and natural resource management. In addition to her teaching and research, Conquest was Director of the Quantitative Ecology and Resource Management (QERM) program at UW for fifteen years. In recognition for her many contributions to biological and ecological statistical methodology, she has been elected a Fellow of the American Statistical Association.
