Kent Wheiler is an Associate Professor in the School of Environmental and Forest Sciences, and Director of the Center for International Trade in Forest Products (CINTRAFOR). He joined UW after thirty years managing international forestry business operations, including eleven years residence in Tokyo, Shanghai, and Dubai, and managing plantations in China, Indonesia, Ghana, South Africa, and Nicaragua. His research and teaching is aligned with the mission of CINTRAFOR, with a focus on sustainable production and trade of wood products to protect and improve the lives of people, the health of our forests, and the global environment.
