Eric Turnblom is an applied forest ecologist and biometrician conducting research into forest stand dynamics, silviculture—which refers to methods to promote the establishment, health and growth of a forest to meet diverse needs and values—woody biomass, wood quality, and natural resources inventory and measurement techniques. Much of his work plays into developing quantitative models and management tools to support sustainable forestry and to sustainably manage other natural resource dominated systems and economies. Turnblom holds the B. Bruce Bare Endowed Professorship in Forest Resources.
