Racism, prejudice, and inequality have a direct impact on academic settings. Dismantling structural inequalities in academia is a change that must be made. However, there are no simple solutions to these complex issues, we require different perspectives to fully understand the problems. Starting on the AUT20 quarter, the number one priority for the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion team is to create a dynamic diversity action plan for the College. This plan will be in alignment with the UW Diversity Blueprint.

Our initial goal is to co-create this plan via active participation from all stakeholders in the College of the Environment, with an emphasis on the Diversity Committee, unit diversity committees, the Dean’s office, and the different College committees.

We need your help!

To get us started, we want to get your input about what you want to see in our diversity action plan. We encourage you to share your priorities with your unit diversity committee. We want to hear your ideas and feedback.  If you would like to provide feedback on this plan, fill out this form.
